Advanced Practitioner

Primary Care Services are evolving and changing.  That is why Hoyland Medical Practice introduced an Advanced Practitioner role into the front line at the surgery in October 2017.

Our current Advanced Practitioners, Simon Greasley and Natalie Green work 14 clinical sessions per week.  With an average 52 GP clinical sessions as well we are able to offer approximately 900 appointments each week. This doesn’t include deductions for annual or other planned leave.  This level of access is above average for a practice of this size and shows the GP Partners are committed to improving access to services.

It will become routine where patients are offered an appointment to see an Advanced Practitioner first.  Access to Doctors will not be limited but directing patients to see a more appropriate clinician (someone who can deal with their symptoms or conditions) will allow GP’s more time to deal with more complex clinical needs.
